These individuals are rejoicing over a massacre that humanitarian officials suspect claimed the lives of over two thousand individuals in the African urban center of the Darfur city last month.

A City Isolated from the Outside

After maintaining the city under encirclement for almost 24 months, from late summer the paramilitary force advanced to reinforce its dominance and restrict the remaining civilian population.
